If you answered yes to all those questions, Fields of Zion International is looking for you. God has given us a mission of building Intentional Christian Communities for his end time remnant. Our focus areas include Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont as well as the Caribbean islands of Jamaica and Barbados.
Here’s a quick introduction to our vision…
Fields of Zion International was established by God to assist in building environments where Christians can learn to live in community together. To learn to be one in Him and with each other.
We create wilderness play schools where God’s people can learn to live in close harmony to the land, which provides for their sustenance, while fostering opportunities for faith building and spiritual growth. Our model SEED communities, centered around an Interactive Farmstead & Cultural learning Center, offer an opportunity for like-minded people to join together in a unique faith walk experience.
Goshen offers those willing to make the journey, an adventure in true kingdom living. The chance to learn to live with and love your neighbors, and not just the ones you sit next to in church. To build kingdom family based on covenant relationships. To step away, to a simpler life. A life full of blessing and joy. Where God takes preeminence in all aspects of daily life, and harmony abounds. The chance to step into the fullness of the blessing under the shadow of the Almighty. To learn true mountain moving faith, and unwavering trust in God.
By the Lord’s direction, we have named the locations of our wilderness communities Goshen. They describe not a specific geographic region but a congregation, or community of believers in a particular region, focused on working together towards building a closer more unified body in all aspects of daily living. Currently we are in the process of building two such communities. The first is well underway in Southern Maine. The other developing project is on the north coast of Jamaica.
Our long-term goal is to create a working pattern for an intentional Christian community, Sustainable and able to be planted anywhere in the world.
A Unique Opportunity
We currently have a waiting list for new community members. However, a unique opportunity exists to get on board early. Like the Pilgrims who boarded the Mayflower in search of their promised land, we are searching out a select group of individuals to make up the initial seed planting for at least three communities. Two in Maine and one in Jamaica.
These couples and individuals will be directly involved with the development and build out of our Intentional Christian Communities. By design, each community centers around an Interactive Farmstead and Cultural Learning Center (IFCLC). These individuals bring unique skills vital to the success of the community.
Who are we looking for?
Ideal candidates will be:
- Between the ages of 28-50 years old.
- Have a vision for Intentional Christian Community living.
- Hold a deep reverence for Jesus Christ and a well rounded knowledge of the Bible.
- Desire to see the Kingdom or God flourish on the earth.
- Able and willing to work as a team.
- Willingness to abide by the established Fields of Zion core community values.
- Hold a solid faith in God’s provision.
Specific skill sets / positions available:
- Homestead Managers: IMMEDIATE OPENINGS
Seeking couples as live in homestead managers. Homestead managers work as a part of the local community assembly, acting as a point of contact for the educational opportunities at our Interactive Farmstead Learning Centers. They oversee the general direction and daily operations of these diversified farmsteads. We currently have one position open in Maine at Saco River Farms, in need of immediate placement.
Ideal candidates will be a young married couple (27-40) with a passion for homesteading. With at least one person having prior experience in farming & livestock. Other valuable skills would include any of the following: retail sales, marketing, business, gardening, backyard poultry, dairy, small livestock care, egg production, meat production, construction trades. Onsite living arrangements consist of private bedroom with attached shared kitchen/living/bath. Contact Farmer Mark for more info.
- Master Gardener:
Ideal candidate has 10+ years experience in organic market gardening and/or small scale fruit production.
- Master Herdsman (herds manager):
Ideal candidate has 10+ years experience working with small and large livestock. Understands the basic needs of these animals and is passionate about their care.
- Master Cheesemaker:
Ideal candidate has 10+ years experience working as an artisan cheesemaker.
- Master Flocksman (Flocks Manager):
Ideal candidate has 8+ years experience working with chickens and or ducks for meat and egg production.
- Master Builder:
Ideal candidate has 10+ years experience of general contracting work in the area of residential and commercial construction.
- Large Animal Veterinarian:
Ideal candidate has 15+ years experience working with livestock including horses, cows, goats and sheep.
- Property Managers:
Ideal candidate has 8+ years experience in the area of property management. Being well skilled in all areas of general maintenance of residential properties.
- Marketing Director:
Ideal candidate has 10+ years experience in marketing a variety of products & services, etc. A marketing degree is preferred, as well as graphic design experience.
- Sales Director:
Ideal candidate has 10+ years experience in sales of direct to consumer products.
- Human resources/administrative assistant:
Ideal candidate has 10+ years experience working in this field.
A Grand Adventure
If you believe God is calling you to use your skills and experience to build his Kingdom, then this may be the opportunity you’re looking for. It will not be an easy task, however for those up to a challenge, it will be a great opportunity for adventure. Like the Pilgrims, we will watch as God builds something out of nothing, knowing that together we had a role in the finished work.
Before you say yes… Please understand we are not promising anything, except to say that God will provide for those who trust him. We have learned, through our own wilderness adventure, that God’s provision is better than anything we can find in this world. We want to share all that we have learned with as many people as we can. If you desire to come and join our adventure, you’ll be coming in the same way we did… completely trusting in God’s perfect provision in all things. That’s what wilderness living is all about!
