Effective communities begin with effective leadership! Effective leadership takes commitment! Commitment begins where a persons faith and vision collide.
Leaders must be willing to put the needs of the community first. Willing also to sacrifice to see things through to the end.
This is where the local Assembly comes in. An assembly within the greater assembly. Comprised of a group of like minded individuals sharing a similar vision but each having unique talents, qualifications and experience. In other words a team.
To be effective, the team must be a team in the truest sense of the word. Each committed more to the others them themselves. This takes a very unique individual, one whom God has made humble, and shaped into His masterpiece. One who has been fitted precisely to the task at hand like a sprocket in a machine.
These assemblies form an important part of the leadership structure within the greater Body of Christ. Not a church, nor a religion. The Assembly is not a municipality and thus has no need of a civil presence. It is a part of the Body and as such spiritual in nature not physical. It’s reach is spiritual, having an effect on the natural.
The Assembly has no need of a corporate or physical presence. Finances, buildings, etc. are not part of the Kingdom of God, they are earthly, simply tools to achieve Kingdom purposes. These earthly things should never be the focus of ministry.
The assembly is not a place of religion but a way of life. Thus a body of members working in unison. The head of which is Christ, in operation through a group of fully submitted individuals within a structured system. True leadership always begins with submission.
The Assembly relies heavily on the 5 fold ministry structure. Some to pray, some to prophesy, some to act, some to teach.
Their task:
- Identify the needs and areas within the community which are most pressing.
- Seek direction, understanding and wisdom.
- Formulate and carry out a plan to meet those needs.
