What Is Zion?
How Fields of Zion International Uses the Word “Zion”
The word Zion carries many meanings in our time. For some, it is primarily a political term. For others, it refers to specific organizations or modern movements. Because of these misunderstandings, it is important to be clear about what Fields of Zion International means — and what it does not mean — when using the name “Zion.”
1. Zion in Scripture
In the Bible, Zion is first a place — the hill in Jerusalem associated with David’s rule and God’s presence:
Over time, “Zion” also becomes a people — those who belong to the Lord, live under His rule, and carry His name:
In this biblical sense, Zion represents:
- God’s presence among His people,
- His government and ways,
- His refuge in times of shaking.
2. What Fields of Zion Means by “Zion”
When FOZI uses the word Zion, it refers to a Kingdom pattern — communities of believers walking in covenant with God, rooted in His presence, and ordering their life together according to His ways.
Fields of Zion refers to:
- Land where God plants His people,
- Communities built around His presence and His order,
- Places of refuge, discipleship, and practical preparation for the remnant.
It is a spiritual identity — not a political label.
3. What Fields of Zion Is Not
Fields of Zion is not a political movement and is not affiliated with Friends of Zion or with any Zionist political organization.
FOZI is not a lobby group, a party, or a political action network. Its calling is entirely Kingdom-focused:
- helping believers build resilient, land-based communities,
- training leaders in spiritual and practical stewardship,
- serving the remnant with patterns that can be applied anywhere in the world.
FOZI does not advocate political Zionism nor does it engage in geopolitical activism.
4. Why the Name “Fields of Zion”
The name came in prayer years before the full vision was understood. Over time, the Lord connected it with farms, communities, and places of refuge where His people could be planted and strengthened.
“Fields” speaks of land, labor, and harvest.
“Zion” speaks of His presence, His government, and His covenant people.
Together, they describe the heart of FOZI’s mission:
to help cultivate communities where God’s people can grow strong in spirit, rooted in land, and united in purpose.
